Story: The sun had just begun to peak over the hillside on a frosty Thanksgiving weekend. I had chosen a new stand location that overlooked a wide well overgrow pasture covered in cedars and hedge apple trees. Ihad placed my stand parallel with a heavily used fence crossing. There was a disadvantage to this stand, I was totally blind to almost everything on the other side of the fence, my view blocked by cedars and over hanging limbs. I gave a few grunts and settled in for another long buckless day. Only moments after the calls, I heard what I knew was one animal moving quickly in my direction. I heard the snap of the old barb wire, and immediately saw legs appear from underneath the overhanging limbs. I put my rifle to my shoulder as he stepped into view and looked in my general direction. I quickly realized I was looking at the biggest buck I had ever seen. I quickly placed my cross hairs and fired.
