Story: "I had been hunting this deer since archery season, I knew he was still in the area. Occasionally I would see some fresh sign he had made. On the morning of December 1, 2003, I had gotten into my stand at 6:15 a.m. hunting some fresh scrapes. At 6:30 a.m., I had turned my head to cough into my jacket ( I had a cold). When I did there was a deer standing under my stand. It ran away so quickly that I never got a look at it. I looked ever way that I could to see where it had gone with no luck. I turned back around dropped my head and said to myself "Man, did I mess this hunt up or what?" I turned and looked back toward the scrapes and there he stood, less than 30 yards away, I threw my gun up and put the scope on him. To be able to take a shot at him, he had to be an 8 pointer or better due to the landowner's regulations. Once I knew he met this regulation, I took my shot at 6:35 a.m. He ran about twenty yards before he went down. He is the result of two and a half months of hunting that ended with only 20 minutes of hunting on this particular morning."
