Story: "This deer had been seen and shot at by a buddy of mine two days prior during archery season. The morning I took this deer I had three other hunters come in behind me an hour after daylight and all sat down within 50 yards of me. I continued to hunt, and after a couple of hours they all left together. Within 5 minutes of their leaving I heard this deer tearing off the same ridge they had been sitting on. He came across the knob I was hunting at full speed heading for a thicket. I got a shot off and he dropped like a lead weight. About 30 seconds behind him where 3 dogs, also full speed (not my dogs). This deer had been knicked in the upper left shoulder by a broadhead sometime earlier. My buddy swears it wasn't him, but whoever it was gets credit for an assist. These dogs chased him right by me, and no doubt without his wound they would not have been on his trail."
