Story: "I was hunting a large open field with friend one November morning. We got set before daylight, and since my friend hadn't shot a deer yet this year, we decided that he would get the first shot. He passed on a doe at 6:15, and at 6:45 we saw a buck coming out of the woods. The buck came down a trail into the clearing and we notice that one side of his rack was broken off. He would have made a nice 6 point. My friend decided he would take him, he made a perfect shot from 155 yards and the deer ran about 20 yards, falling in a big hole. We went to look at his deer, and he decided to field dress it right there. I went back to our spot in the field and continued to hunt. Now it was my turn. I knew better than to turn and see what my friend was doing, but I couldn't help it every now and then. Wouldn't you know, the third time I turned around, I saw my friend cleaning his deer, and believe it or not, a big buck coming right towards him. This 8 point was walking the same trail and heading right towards my buddy. Obviously I couldn't yell at my friend, so I kept my fingers crossed, hoping that my friend and the buck wouldn't spook each other. The 8 point came into the same clearing, and I dropped him in his tracks. My friend turned to see what happened, and we both couldn't believe it. I guess deer do some crazy things during the rut. He had been chasing that 6 point out of the woods, and we both ended up with a nice trophy."
