Story: "My girlfriend Melissa and I got drawn for the November 12 and 13 quota hunt on Tennessee NWR. This was only the second time Melissa had been deer hunting and you have to harvest and tag an antlerless deer prior to harvesting a buck so Melissa and I had agreed that I would take the first doe. At 7:00 AM, a group of 8 -10 does topped the ridge in front of us. One doe turned and moved towards the saddle we were positioned in. I waited until she presented a clear shot and fired. The doe was hit hard and only ran a short distance. At 7:30 AM, I spotted another deer moving towards the saddle. Assuming it was another doe, I handed the gun to Melissa and told her to get ready. The deer stepped out in the clear, and Melissa said, it's a buck. I took the gun from her and waited. The buck followed the same trail the doe had and stopped where she had presenting a clear shot. The buck ran 75 yards before piling up."
