Story: It was Friday night, and I was at my cousins house. My uncle jokingly said well you watch Mr. Lucky here. You'll take him tomorrow and he's gonna get that big one you have been hunting. We kinda snickered at the joke. We got off to a late start Saturday morning. We didn't get in the woods til around 7:00 a.m. After sitting watching the side of a ridge and several scrapes in a holler below us for a few hours, my cousin and I decided to just walk around the land a bit. We did so and came back to the area we had hunted earlier, around 11:15 a.m. and sit there. We were just basically playing around, with my cousin Jesse banging the rattling horns together, and stomping his feet, raking the leaves with the antlers he had. We wasn't expecting to call in a deer. Afterall, rattling was something that only worked on TV in Texas and places like that. Suddenly from behind us, we heard the awfulest racket coming right at us. Charging down the ridge behind us. I saw that it was a deer...and a buck, and we both kinda were in shock. It didn't last too long though cause this deer was moving and moving fast. I found him in my scope. Pulled the trigger.....and a little while later he was in the bed of the truck. It was a family effort though had it not been for him rattling and me grunting, we probably wouldn't have seen him. A trophy in our book.
