Story: I call this deer "NINE LIVES because he truly did have nine lives. I passed a shot at him in 2007 because I thought it was to far. He had been grazed during bow season 08, missed in the first muzzleloader season in 08, grazed with a rifle shot in 08, and missed three times with a rifle in 08. The deer kept coming out quickly at 275 yds and moving back into the woods. I finally created a ground blind about 50 yards from where he kept entering the field and hunted him every chance I got. On Dec.13th it was windy and I wasn't expecting to see him but I lightly hit my grunt call a couple of times and he exited the woods to see where it came from. I allowed him to begin crossing the field and get broadside before shooting him with my muzzleloader at about 42 yards. The deer had a 20" inside spread with a split G2. I have not aged him yet but I'm guessing he is 5 1/2- 6 1/2 years old. He was in poor physical condition and I doubt he would have lived another season. He truly had nine lives.
