Story: "Saturday morning 10-27-01 was projected to be the coldest day of the fall, and I was hoping it was going to be hot for deer movement with per-rut kicking in. I was hunting a funnel 80 yards wide. It was only the third time I sat in this location all year. The wind was blowing a little but was perfect for my setup. I could not believe that when 20 minutes after 7 rolled around I had not see a deer. Nor had my good friend Tommy, my dad, or my young brother. I knew this because we all had radio and all had been quite. I was tried from only sleeping 2 hours. I did a little light rattling with my horns and leaned my head back and closed my eyes. Only a few minutes my rest came to a end. I heard deer move in the leaves coming my way. I stood up and ready myself for a shot. I could not see the deer becuase they were under young oaks still full a leaves. I caught movement of two deer about 50 yards out head toward my loaction on a trail that came with 10 yards of my stand. The deer stopped about 30 yards out for a few seconds then started my way again. I drew my bow when I through they were about to clear the young oaks. Looking through my peep sight I saw a nose then horns. When he stepped into the open at a slow jog I grunted twice with my mouth trying to stop him. Instead he started to guarter away from me. I took the shot and he ran 80 yards out and stopped. I then turned around and seen another good 8 Point standing 30 yards out. I watched him for about 10 minutes until he turned and left. The blood trail was each to follow and he only traveled another 60 yards from where I last saw him. He had a hugh body that weighted in 2 hours after being feild-dressed at 205. He has been green scored at 128 & 5/8. It made it more special to have my dad, brother and a great friend there to share to exictment with."
