Story: About 15 minutes before dark I heard the sound of a deer walking and when I honed in on that area I saw a buck coming out a logging road that led from an old field. My binoculars confirmed that it was a 10 point that I would like to take. The buck turned at the intersection of two roads and began to feed on acorns. The shot was longer than I typically take (34 yards) but when I drew and hit anchor with my old Bear Kodiak Hunter, I just felt everything was right. Sure enough, I made a perfect shot and the buck bolted away down the logging road, made a u-turn back the way he had came, and then ended up crashing 50 yards from where he was standing when I shot and expiring in less than a minute.
