Story: This is the 9pt x 181/2 I was blessed with the first Friday of muzzleloader. This was the 19th deer I had seen and it was only 8:30 a.m.The nighbors beans and millet were awesome this year. Anyways, every other deer had left the field, (I had just gotten done watching a 4 and 5 pt fight hard) but I look out and he's standing about 250 yrds. away eating some orchard grass and I was afraid he was going to go on across the field. So like a dummie with 100grain powder, I took a pop shot and missed but luckily he didn't have a clue and that allowed me to reload. I hit the grunt call and he disappeared and w/in a couple of minutes he reappeared @ about 125 yrds and all I could see was a little shoulder and a neck. I situated myself and shot. I went to where I shot him but he was not there, along with no blood. First thought, I missed again. I walked around for about 20 minutes with no sight of a deer and then I look up the old logging rd going into the other field and there he lay. He ran 25 yrds and never bled a drop.
