Story: I had hunted that morning in my tree stand in the hardwoods. Did not see anything so went back to the clear cut I had been hunting earlier in the year at about 10:00am. Once in the clear cut, I simply sat behind some brush watching the draws around me. I was about to leave at 11:30 and a buddy of mine told me that he had seen deer in there earlier that week at 12:30. I made up my mind that I would sit until 12:00. A compromise right? I sat back down and at 12:00 I got up and started walking back towards the truck. I stopped after about 50 yards and stood behind one more brush pile. At 12:09pm, two does stepped out from across the clear cut. They were both looking back. Then he stepped out. I threw up my gun on my knees and shot thru the brush pile. He ran down the cliff and flipped over breaking off one of his main tines on the left side (as you can see in the pic). No worries though! The taxidermist is reparing that for me. Great buck and fun hunt!
