If you're still in the woods be careful. Found this dude on Sunday and by the way he was positioned he could cause issues if me or anyone else wasn't paying attention. He was perfectly concealed behind that log and luckily for me I was approaching from his back so I saw him from a safe distance.
He never rattled, nor even really acknowledged my existence until I nudged him just a little. Even after that he basically just ignored me, wishing to continue his hunt.
He's still alive, as I'm not scared of them and don't condone killing snakes that aren't an immediate danger to people. Where he was is about 3 miles from the closest road, and probably 10 from any sort of dwelling. It's a much larger snake then it appears in the pics BTW, most of his body was hidden from view.
