Not much of a story to it. I shut the door to my truck at 5:29 and took off walking. I crossed a creek, stepped into a field and saw 3 birds at about 200 yards and started glassing. As I'm watching em I hear a putt, put binoculars down and there's 2 gobblers at 40-45 yards. I put my head down because at first I thought they were too far, but after looiing again I'm confident I kill one of em. I shot him and am driving out and sending pictures at 5:46. It was right place at right time but after missing 4 weeks of season because of work, I'll take it with a smile and be proud!!
He seemed pretty small for a 2 yr old but had a 10 1/2 in beard, almost 3/4 spurs.
Thankful that the good lord put these critters on earth for us to chase around. I love it more and more every year.
