Two very nice deer. Hard to skip the big one. But boy he is gonna be a monster next year if he makes it through the season.

I should say a Bigger Monster.
 
Ive only got history with the 7 point. Last year he was a 3 year old 7 point also. I was hoping letting him walk another year would cause him to become more than a 7 but Im guessing thats all he can do. If I get a shot at him hes toast. As for the 9 I have never seen him before. If he is ever in front of me Ill make the decision to take or pass him at that time. He looks only 3 to me and I dont like killing 3 year old if I can help it.

Agreed I would put him at 3.5 with above average antlers...that jump to 4.5 could be extremely impressive. Good luck

The bigger one should be real close to 130. Hard to pass them when they are that size. If I had never shot one that big, I would shoot him. He most certainly should put on quite a bit with another year, but lots of variables come in to play. Pretty buck.
 
I got some bad news yesterday regarding getting a shot at one of these bucks. My landlord has been cutting timber for the past few weeks and has planned to move to this side of the farm around the end of september. If this happens Im afraid these deer will find a new place to call home.
 
It shouldn't bother them to much. I would be more concerned with range shift. I killed a target buck a couple years ago while watching a dozer work. Saws running a few ridges over with log trucks coming in so close to my stand that I probably could have jumped to the logs on the trailer. Good luck. Don't let the logging get you down. Just hunt!

Agree. A lot of the bucks being captured on trail cams right now will be a mile or more from that location come Oct/Nov timeframe. Some will stay close, but my experience has been more leave than stick around. If you have good habitat and does, you will typically attract other bucks to you during the rut to offset the mass exodus typically seen in September.

I had the exact problem on one of my places last year. Had 6-7 mature deer hitting the bean fields like crazy in the summer. Come 1st week of October there was 1 with the occasional passer through...I thought I was in the chips for a P&Y of 140 or better...negative! This year I have 2 mature bucks so I'm hoping things flip flop

This farm is in Madison Co. on the border of Chester Co. Whats really nice is the price I pay for the lease. $300 a year for 300 acres. How can you beat that for a lease?
