Had a new buck so up a couple weeks back. Me and my buddies have been arguing on age. I'm thinking 3.5, they think older. Any opinions?

Andy do you think this deer just didnt have the genes to be a really good deer, or could he be on the way down? Either way if he is in that age class he will be on my hit list.

I do not think he is on his way down. If I had to guess, I'd say he is just one of those bucks that is not going to express as much antler growth as some hunters would want for his age class. In all honesty, he may be more the norm for his age class than not (think bell shaped curve and average score per age class). Of course, the norm is not what we hunters typically want when we are afield, but it is what it is when looking at the standing crop of bucks in the herd (pre-hunt conditions).

I agree with andy on this 4.5+ chest depth is the tell tale sign IMO
I agree with him too. :D You are correct in your assessment, his deep pointed thick neck/chest area are indicative of a 4.5+, and I would not be surprised if his teeth indicated he was 5.5.

This deer is on a new place I got to hunt this year. This is the 4th deer that I have got pictured that is a 4.5+. One of them is a giant 8 with really long tines that I posted a while back on here. He has been very inconsistent lately as far as getting his picture. The place I am hunting is only 20 acres but I have about 16 different bucks pictured. More than a farm I have that is 200 acres. Do any of yall have a place like this with so many bucks and also the number of fully mature deer? The only problem is to my estimation I have only got pictures of about 5 different does since April. I am worried it wont be long before my bucks start to disappear.

This should be a real point of concern IMO. Sounds like a bucks summer ing ground. Don't be distraught if in the next month they "disappear". There would be way to much competition for the top tier with that many mature animals on such a small parcel. Now all is not lost! There's a good chance that in the opening week you have an opportunity at a mature deer with such close proximity given they remain on a summer type pattern and are tolerant of each other when the velvet first comes off. Good luck in any case!
