Apologies for the belated report... January 13 was Steve Hayes 64th birthday. He decided this year he wanted to do something "special" for himself on his birthday. I was honored that he chose to book a trip with me. I told him we'd head out after the big blues, but that we would be fishing for quality, not quantity. I was concerned about the cold snap, and true to form, the morning bite was VERY slow.
But about 11:30, this happened: https://youtu.be/l8dOdvz2mIo
The bite never got fast or furious, but it was a bit more consistent in the afternoon. We boated ten cats, the four biggest were 57, 28, 18 and 17.
Steve considered it a very "Happy Birthday," and for me, that means life is good and gettin' better every day!
