Somehow my fishing boat has developed a smallish leak.
For the first 2 years I had the boat I never even took the drain plug out because there was no need.
It was always bone dry after the return trip, except if it was really rough and I took on some water over the sides from the spray.
Anyway I have noticed here lately that when we pull out and the boat is still on the ramp the water will be about 2 to 3 inches deep back there.
I haven't investigated it at all other than I left the plug in a couple times and saw some drips that are hitting the concrete about center of the boat width wise and about 2 feet forward of the transom.
I know it is probably just dripping from there because that is the lowest spot and thats where it collects before dripping.
Anyway, a buddy told me about a product he saw years ago and I was wondering if there was anything out there like this.
He said it looked like a stick of puddy and you heated it up and then just rubbed it on the outside of the boat and when it cooled it set up like hard as steel.
Just curious if anyone had ever heard of such?
Fixing it would require it to be patched (welded) from the underside of the boat as there is no way to get to the bottom of the boat from the inside without some MAJOR and I mean MAJOR work.
When I put a new floor in the boat I couldn't get the old floor out. Back in 1985 when Bass Tracker put a floor in a boat they MEANT it to be there forever. So basically I just laid the new floor on top of the old one and screwed it down.
Anyway, just thought it might be worth a shot to ask here if anyone had heard of something like that, or had another possible fix?
