Good looking buck but left bit left side if off? Genetics?. injury?

That deer looks awfully thin even for this time of the year. I bet it's an injury and NOT genetic. He doesn't look ill, so he should be walking around come November.
 
ribs are showing.

Seems like that should be unusual, at least at this time of year.

Guess we have to wait for the next installment
