My cousin killed this one 4 minutes into the Missouri opener. 1 5/8" Spurs.

Oh my.... I'd remeasure with a flexible tape to take into account the curve. That dude could hit 1 3/4. Gonna be some tough meat tho :)

There is no telling how old that joker was. He said he didn't weigh 20lbs. The area he hunts typically produces 22-24lb birds. Southeast Missouri
 
Killer hooks, one of the few pair I've seen online that I think could measure better than stated. I love the curvature in those bad boys. I've seen more good spurs this year than I've seen in a long time. Mainly MS, TN and MO birds.
 
Imagine what he coulda been next year... haha

Two of my biggest spur birds only weighed 15 and 16 pounds. 18-19 is about normal. Both were killed in North Alabama. They were just smaller framed and shorter.

It may all be hog wash, but to make myself feel cooler, I tell myself "this is the true original wild strain."

I like killing them lightweights with big hooks.
