He was locked down with some girls so I had to put the sneak on him too.

NICE! Id love to see an up close pic of the base of the beard or beards. The reason I say this is that all of the multiple bearded birds Ive killed, and Ive killed several, the lowest beard is the main beard and the multiples are on top of it and get progressively smaller as they go up. Ive NEVER seen a double beard that equal and that full. I did kill one just like that once though and upon close examination I could see that it was in fact ONE beard that had split at the base. Multiple beards WILL have skin between the bases.

Ahhh, I'm not really too concerned about it lol not like I'm entering it in some kind of competition or anything, hell if you wanna get real technical looks like it's got 3 beards, either way just glad to lay another one down

I wasn't trying to be an arse about it, I was just curious! Congrats on a SUPER bird! Like you said, I think I see 3 beards in fact! It doesn't mean anything and I never bothered to register any of mine, but you do know you can score these things like deer don't you? Weight, beard or beards x2 and spurs x 10 will give you a score. Yes, NWTF keeps records of such things just like Pope and Young and Boone and Crockett do deer. Back several years ago I killed 2 triple beards, one in TN and one in KY. At the time they would have been ranked #17 and #18 in the all time records for their respective states. The KY bird got relinquished to the beard box. The TN bird got mounted since he also had 1 1/2" spurs and weighed over 22lbs.

Yeah I know there's a scoring system and such, just don't care anything about it I guess. Just love chasing these goofy birds in the spring. Two triple beards in two states sounds like a good spring to me. I threatened to do the hillbilly grandslam when I was in school in the Cumberland gap but was too broke to swing it lol plus I had plenty of TN birds to keep me occupied. Maybe bone of these days I'll do it. Bout to break out my powder guns and stick bows since I've already put down 2 birds.
