I hunted on my place this morning. I've only hunted it once this year and never seen or heard a gobbler. But we have been seeing a lot of hens. So I know they are in the area. I got to where I park at and head off the ridge towards the back. Once I hit the bottom of the hollow I thought I heard a gobble. I stop and listen sure enough there is a gobble on top of the ridge I just came off of. So I turn around and head back up that ridge. I get around 75 yards below him on the side of the ridge. I end up seeing hens roosted about 40 yards to my right. He pitches down about 60 yards from me and a little soft talk brings him in range. 23.6 pounds 10 5/8 beard 1 1/2 and 1 1/16 spur one was broke. He was roosted within a 100 yards of the truck.
