On a random sit last week. I saw what was with out question a mature buck. He was 150 yards or so from me crossing in a hard wood thicket.
I had just enough time to get my binoculars on him, His rack stood out as Unusual, I tried to recall tomemory the bucks I have had on cam this year and he didn't fit the bill for any of them.
His rack was oddly narrow, tall and not overly impressive as far as score is concerned.
I chalked it up too a cruising buck that just happened to be crossing our farm for the first time to my knowledge.
while clearing some old SD cards a couple days later I happened up on this buck from last year. I had totally forgotten about him
I had several pics of him toward the end of last season.
immediately I said to myself that's him!!
The encounter was leading to the same area were I got these pics in 2019
fingers are crossed that I'll get a better look at him Soon.
Well, I didn't Expect it to happen that quick but it did.
This is a bucket list deer. Not only did I have a history with the buck but I was able to take him with my Dads 30/30 and skin him out with his knife.
both were past down to me by Dad and i have fond memories of them as a child.
when He give me the rifle a couple years ago he said I want you to shoot a good buck with it.
At that point I made it a Priority,
Dad will be 76 this March so He got the first call this morning,
He is Sentimental so I know it made him smile.
The buck is not overly impressive by any stretch but it's a good Mature TN buck.
As my grandpa always said:
God is good.
