I had that same thought. Not aware of any in that area but never know I guess. That is strange, almost looks like a red deer spike. Not saying it is but could there be the possibility of that in your area.
Yea looks a little long, I'd be interested in seeing a frontal view and one out in the sunThat's real strange! Look at the length of his fur. Doesn't look like a whitetails coat to me....
Thanks for weighing in. Very interesting. I will need to ask around. This is remote area around the Fentress/Overton border.Agree with others. Not sure that's a white-tailed deer.
Wasn't there a Red Deer herd that had escaped an enclosure up on the Northern. Plateau several or more years ago? Thanks for weighing in. Very interesting. I will need to ask around. This is remote area around the Fentress/Overton border.
Thanks for the lead. Did some searching and found some info on escaped red deer around Claiborne County in 2011. That's around 50-60 miles straight line distance East of here.Wasn't there a Red Deer herd that had escaped an enclosure up on the Northern. Plateau several or more years ago?
TWRA even had a special hunt for them post-deer season, only they all herded up in the woods behind the local elementary school, as I seem to recall.
I don't know whatever finally became of the Red Deer.
Assuming you mean Caryonah, that would be about 21 miles straight line distance.Fentress / Overton County line?? How far are you from Corona Hunting Lodge Northeast of Monterey?? They are known to have various exotics.
Yes it does. Probably escaped from one of the farms.
I agree. I thought the shape of the head looks more like a camel or giraffe than a whitetail deer. Lol. I'm voting an escapee red deerThe shape of the head, especially the nose makes it look like something other than a whitetail.
