I don't normally fish this time of year. But with the warmer weather and no ducks we have been catching some. Water temperature on Reelfoot was 54 degrees this morning. The bigger fish we caught today had some eggs that looked pretty full already. Is that normal for this time of year? I assume it is unusual but because of the weather and water temperature so warm?

That's info for me, I have cought a bunch in the early spring with no eggs. I always assumed they didn't get eggs until March or April time.
it takes a lot of energy and time to produce eggs. we will start seeing eggs late summer and early fall but i actually think i remember they start again shortly after they recover from spawning but you just cant see them yet. sometimes if they fail to spawn they will absorb the eggs but those will be an off grayish color.
