Heading out in 5 days!!

Good luck and take it easy the first day or so. Last fall I was trail running in UT at about 7000ft and because I immediately recorgnized the symptoms of altitude sickness took it easy that first run. For us flatlanders, it's real, it's uncomfortable, and it can be dangerous if you overdo it.

Sounds like a great time! Hope you have great luck!

I'm lucky in that I have never had an issue with altitude sickness-even with several trips over 13k. I do drink a ton of water every day so I'm sure that helps.

I've hunted / hiked that area a lot. Hydrate BEFORE you're thirsty. That dry air will kick your $$s quickly. The altitude is a real thing. Don't try and be a superstar on day 1. You'll be down the other days. Pace yourself, take breaks often and HYDRATE.

Looking forward to seeing the pics. Have fun. It's GORGEOUS out there.
