Other than watching my son kill his first bird, or killing my first bird, this morning was one of the best - I killed a nice bird using my grandpa's Lohman turkey call that I inherited in 1980. He only killed one turkey in his life (photo attached), but he let my cousin and I play with the call when we were kids. Last year I set a goal of killing a bird with his call, but it never quite worked out. This morning it all came together old school - just me, a call and a turkey! My fear while hunting with this call was either losing it or breaking it - I believe it's time to retire it and put it on a a shelf where my son can inherit it one day.
Good luck to all of you!
