Who is to blame for this poorly worded characterization?

Dude shoots turkey out of truck and this is the image that is portrayed.

However...... I would venture to bet the guy that did it legally hunts by crawling behind a fan or sits in front of a heard of decoys.

Makes it sound like the guy that killed the turkey was shot because of it. Somebody needs to proofread better including the editor.

Writers use stock photos and likely would not legally be allowed to use a screengrab from the video (assuming that's the story you're referencing)

I would bet a large sum of money the writer even had to ask someone in the office if that was a picture of a turkey. The overwhelming majority have no clue about hunting.
