As usual, my son and I went hunting together this morning, opening day. We don't typically sit right together thinking maybe that would increase our odds of at least getting one bird. Will this morning shortly after flydown this Jake popped his head up over the hilltop. Cory shot him. While waiting for a report, I looked out the other direction and see three coyotes in the field and started smooch calling them. The last one just couldn't resist and came to check it out. 43 steps with my new turkey set up, a Tristar o/u 20 gauge w/red dot shooting number nine shot. Dropped him in his tracks. It's been a pretty good morning.
