Up at 3 AM, out the door by 3:45.
Hit the lake at 4:30, throwing a castnet before 4:45.
Caught a bunch of threadfin shad then motored to Elm Hill Marina to meet up with Matthew and Alyssa for a fun morning of fishing.
First stop proved to be a dry hole, nothing but some.small white bass, not the intended target.
Moved a couple miles, watching the Humminbird Helix 12, ran over a small group of hybrids (5 at most), put a way point on my graph, motored around looking and seeing a few scattered fishnso I decided we needed to drop some baits down.
Put down four rods with 5 inch threadfins on the hooks.
Noticed the hybrids were cruising about 18 ft deep so I dropped the baits down to that level and within 2 minutes, had our first hookup of the day, a fat 6.96 lb hybrid.
Got a photo, released the fish and re-baited.
Turned on the Bobo Thumper and my homemade splasher and for the next three hours just sat in one spot and caught fish!
Total for the morning was 15 hybrids ranging in size from 3 lbs to 7 lbs.
10 catfish ranging from 2 lbs to 5 lbs, all channel cats.
Not a bad morning for the nashvillefishingguides.com!!
