It sure would be great, My son posted the pics on a FB group and 2 other properties that he frequents are after him too. He will fall this year I predict, if not us then them.

One thing I've learned to also consider is the effect of the rut on bucks bodies. Losing weight mid to late season can make antlers look bigger. I shot one in January awhile back that'd I'd have swore was bumping up again 150 when I shot…he taped 138.

Sorry you didn't get him.

Gutted wt would put him around 225 live wt or so... which makes his rack look smaller in the pics.

Based on that information, 170 gross is reasonable.

Shame you or your family didn't get him, but at least you know he was killed and by who. Nothing like hunting all season for a ghost that doesn't exist any longer, only to wonder what happened to him or if he made it.

Also would agree with mega, being a bigger deer might make his antlers appear smaller than they really are.
