I highly recommend going with Scenic City Fishing Charters on a trip. This is something I have been wanting to do for a long time. I always wanted for me and my son to catch a large catfish after seeing all the post about it. We planned our vacation this year to Chattanooga and that was top on our list to do. Richard got us setup with Captain Sam and I can't say enough good things about him. If you want someone to work hard to get you on fish and be just as excited for you catching it as he would be himself he is the guy to get. We went on a combo trip starting with bass and then switching to catfish. I had been watching the weather all week and the forecast was back and forth if it was gonna rain. We got out there early and fished for probably an hour right when they started biting we had to come off due to a storm blew up with lightning. We waited the storm out and when we went back it was on. My son caught a 10 pound bass his largest and it will be hard to ever beat. Sam was excited when we hooked it he kept yelling it's a 10 pounder before we even got it in the boat. Our day was made after this but just kept getting better we started off with some decent catfish then my son caught a 14 pounder and he was thrilled. Then he turned around and caught a 26 pound 40" blue cat. Sam was excellent once again working with Henry to get it reeled in. He spent over 15 mins fighting it. After this we couldn't believe the day we were having. It could have ended and I would have been thrilled but we kept fishing and I hooked into a 35 pound 41" blue cat. It was unreal the fight they put up. We chased it for over 30 mins and I went back and measured on base map and I believe we went over 850 yards fighting it. It was unreal. Also once again Sam was great he had excellent boat control and even had to work his way under a bridge and between a big rock pile without getting the boat or fish hung up. We caught several more catfish and I even caught a downtown catfish. All of us said this was the highlight of our vacation. It was a trip of a lifetime and we will definitely be going back. I joked Sam that he was gonna have to beat what we done on this trip. Thanks Richard for fixing us up with Sam.

I am so happy y'all had a great trip. Now you see why I call Sam, "The hardest working man on the river!" I'm not sure if you know, but when he does these combo trips in the Spring, he is at the river at 4 am with his cast net to capture those threadfins and golden shiners. For Henry to have joined the "10-Pound Club" is outstanding! I'm betting he'll be telling that story the rest of his life. Hopefully, however, he'll be telling folks about, "My first 10-pounder." But as you know, at ten-years-old, he may have peaked. 🤣 But for anyone to catch a bass that "weighs their age" is an incredible and very rare club to be in. Thanks again for calling on us!

You are right about the hardest working man on the river. He was all over the boat nonstop baiting hooks, tieing on new ones, or getting fish off. He did tell us about getting up to catch live bait. He said he just has more success with it so you know that he cares about your trip to do that. As far as Henry he hasn't stopped talking about it. I would normally say a person couldn't beat that fish ever but if anyone can it will be him. He has had more luck in his first 3 years hunting then I have in 30 years. Looks like fishing is going to be the same way 😆 Make sure to tell Sam we had a great time and appreciate all his hard work.
