Spoke before about flashing my new Yamaha sho 225 to a 330 and said I would let you know what happened.
The 225 would only turn my 25 pitch prop at 5400 rpm so I backed off to a 23 pitch to get it broke in. The boat would run 65mph. Flashed it to a 330 and now it's turning a cupped 26 pitch at 61-6200 rpm at 74 mph. This is on a z20 ranger tournament loaded with around 36 gallons of fuel and my wife with me. I'm sure if I drop some weight I will pick up some top end. Should also pick up some top end when it's not hot and humid. A tad bit sluggish coming out of the hole compared to the 23 pitch but still gets out fast enough.

Don't you lose a lot of top end with a 4 blade? My buddy ran a 4 blade on his Allison and it would fly but you can't compare an Allison to anything else lol
The 4 blade will give you a better hole shot and they are usually a bit more stable than a 3 blade in a higher speed turn. If you could borrow one from a friend who has one, you could test it out and see.
