I live in Arlington but was looking to make a day trip over towards Jackson hopefully not as far as Nashvegas, but looking for a good creek to wade or play around in with the family. Picture is of what I am used to up in Missouri, but it's about 4 hours away and was looking for something shorter distance. Any suggestions?

You'll have to go east of the TN to find that. Boat access on the Buffalo will probably be your best best. Just don't block up the launch

You might try the Buffalo River around Lobelville.

Come to southeast TN, right on the TN Georgia line. Consauga river
Brush up on trespass laws before going or ensure you seek permission from the appropriate landowners.
Take the family to Tellico for the weekend. Rent a small cabin up there and enjoy it. If at all possible I would sacrifice a day or two from work and take the family on Monday-Tuesday and basically have the place to yourself and enjoy the peace and quiet with the family.
there is a couple of places like that here and has holdover trout in it. if ya know ya know lol.
