I pulled up to the ramp this evening and waited my turn. 3 boats leaving and only me launching. Nobody said they'd caught anything. For some reason I thought I could do better. Fished below Watts Bar dam...hoping for a walleye or sauger. I didn't have a bite. Fished 1/8 oz jighead with fluke jrs bounced off the bottom.

All I seen was a beaver and not the fun kind.

Got my butt completely kicked last Sunday. Fished for 8 hours and caught 1 19in speck and 1 short. Threw everything from topwater, to suspending jerkbaits, to jigs. Just couldn't find the fish. Super frustrating because water temps had gone up to 60d, HARD falling tide, salinity was perfect, and water clarity was way above average. In other words, conditions were perfect.... and I still basically struck out. Was so bad Sunday I decided to deer hunt locally yesterday instead of fishing.

Yeah I wanted to go at least once before going back to work. I would have went some place different but I didn't have long to fish and below the dam is decently protected from the wind. Up on the lake, it was probably white capping pretty good.

Another butt kicking Saturday. Partly my fault, as we had a small craft advisory due to 15k winds, but I wanted to redeem my less than stellar performance from the last trip.

Nope, 1 16in speck and 1 17in speck. Nothing else.

Hoping this cold front concentrates the trout in deep holes so I can find them again.

I've caught a bunch of 26-28 inch brown trout. Just not in Tennessee! Haha. My biggest is still 29.5" long. I was going to have a replica made of her but that stuff gets expensive. I won't get to go back to Arkansas this year and I have been pouting about it too.

I used to routinely catch big browns in the Clinch, biggest I landed was 30.5" on a fly. Caught a lot in the 26-28" range. However, in recent years there just doesn't seem to be many in the river in that size range.
