Got out of work early yesterday and decided to try an afternoon hunt. Got to the field about 4:30 ahead of the birds. Very windy yesterday afternoon so I opted to set up just inside the woods on the shady side. After cold calling every 15-20 minutes, this guy appeared from opposite side of field. Worked him for about 30 minutes, came in strutting but never made a sound. Took shot at about 25 yards. Typical 2 year old, just over 20 lbs, 9 " beard and 1/2" spurs. Very thankful, first bird that I have pulled trigger on in 4 years.
