Got to my land before the sun started coming up. The one thing I hate about my land is highway that runs right in front of it. You can't hear anything when those cars are whizzing by. I heard 0 gobbling this morning, but knew I had birds in the area. I got set up and waited till about 6:40 to start calling. I decided to call every 15 minutes or so, and every sequence went unanswered. At 7:25 I did a couple of soft clucks and then a yelp and this dude gobbled in the cedar thicket to my left and i nearly messed my britches, because he was so close. It is really thick on my land, so in some places you can't see 20-30 yds. I was outside the thicket in a more open area. I put the call down, got the gun on my shoulder and he literally popped out of the thicket. I had to adjust a little and he locked it up and started to turn back around, but I got on him and sent a mag blend his way.
The first pic was done by setting the timer on cell phone, and running to the turkey. I've never done that before, so sorry for the quality. The second is a close up of his spurs, and the last one my wife took when i got home.

It is my biggest bird to date, first bird that I called in. Even though he waited till the last minute to gobble, but I think that is because they can't hear me over the road noise.

Did I mention he was heavy.
25 lbs
10 3/4" beard
1 1/4" sharp spurs

Good Job BC.
BTW, do you have any plywood I can use? :poke:

 I get that off the burn piles on the new construction homes they are putting up in my neighborhood. I plan to make a shooting house on my land and my brother is gonna use whatever is left to build one on his.

Very nice. Congrats on a dandy. Shocks the system when they blow down the woods close by and you have no idea they are around.
