set up on a roosted bird this morning but he followed his hens the opposite direction from me. so i went on down to another field and checked there with no luck so headed back down toward truck and heard that the gobbler had came back to about 100yrds from where he was roosted and was alone. i got to with in about 80yrds of him with a hedge row between us and made a few call to him and he was gobbling back to me but was just strutting around in circle and finally started coming my way, lost sight of him and could hear him spitting so clicked safty off and waited for him to clear the hedges and put some bbs in his head. he was probly about 20yrds so the longbeards had no problem putting him down, was worried about missing him that close with such a tight shell but he went down hard. dont have a scale so not sure on weight but had a 10" beard and 1 7/16 spurs.
