The place I've been hunting has been rather slow this year and quite truthfully I've gotten frustrated. I hunted Saturday morning with no luck so decided to sleep in Sunday instead of going before church. Fast forward to Sunday afternoon around 5:00 and I take off jogging. While on my last mile I notice a turkey out in a horse pasture and stop for a better look when I realize its a gobbler. I finish my jog and then go inside and change clothes, grab my mouth call, my gun and shells and jump on my bike. I ride it over to my neighbor's house and ease back there. I'm thinking he's already fed off but then see him. After crawling for what seemed like forever I got up behind a couple of small cedar bushes and as I'm getting settled he realizes something is wrong and starts putting. He turns and starts back to my right so when the bushes are between us I swing back the other way and when he clears the bush I send a load of Hevi Shot Mag Blends his way. Would rather it have been one gobbling his head in all the way but at this point in the year I'll take one just about any way I can.

17 lbs. 10 oz.
8 3/8" beard
1" spurs

I am more impressed with you getting that turkey the way you got him than if you had called him in on a string. Very resourceful! Congrats!

Congrats, I feel your pain on the year. I even resorted last week to sitting in a treestand in an area I have been seeing some gobblers :)
