Got out to where i normally hear them and sure enough had 3 up on the hill. Decided to go ahead and set up hoping they would stay on pattern and come my direction. Hit just a soft tree yelp and they hammered so i knew i was in business. at about 6:15 all 3 long beards flew down about 40yds from me. Problem was it was still pretty dark and i knew one was bigger then the other 2 but they were all in strut and kept crossing each other. About 10mins later 6 hens flew down behind them and i had a feeling they would be headed that way so at 30yds i just had to pick which one i thought was the biggest...BOOOOM he flopped twice and that was it.....6:28am and the day was over lol. turned out though that the biggest of the 3 was not the one i shot so i am still after him. I ended up watching him in strut at about 100yds and he went ahead and bread all the hens that were with him. Was pretty cool i had never actually seen it while hunting.

not the biggest of birds but he will definitely eat well....... good 2 year old though

just another reason i hate hunting fields or field edges....when he flopped he was TOTALLY WET...makes getting real good pics tough...although i will do it again tomorrow if need be lol
