The morning started out really slow, I only heard one bird far off so I just started walking, calling softly. About 2 miles into it I finally found one that seemed interested. It took about 15 minutes of calling softly and being quiet to get him to commit but once he did he spit and drummed all the way to me before I took the shot at 40 yards. 18 pounds, 9" beard, 1" spurs

Nice. Congrats!

So, what time was it when you finally struck him?

The kind of hunt I like to hear about,
and coming from a real turkey hunter & well rounded conservationist sportsman!
You did good!
