Will a #10 TSS pellet break down a tom at 40-something yards? I see where Federal has a 8 / 10 blend in 20ga but gosh that seems like an awfully tiny pellet.

What Andy said..........it will kill one farther than we should be shooting at them.
#10 TSS (18 g/cc) runs about 500 pellets per ounce of shot. They make great light recoil loads for .410.

TSS is great in smaller gauge guns. If I hunted with a .410 or 20 I'd definitely use it. Theres guys that think its a mortal sin to shoot at a turkey further than 40 yards. But, some of them use TSS in a 12 gauge. I don't think its needed in anything bigger than a 16 gauge. I can kill them easy with either of my 12 gauges and I've never used TSS.
