My life was changed forever...but understand I'm not complaining. Because GOD IS GOOD! The post below is what I posted last couple of years around this time. To all my hunting friends and board brothers, BE CAREFUL...AND MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS COME BACK HOME!
I 'm living proof, that God still does miracles...and that you should always wear your harness. Only time I had ever been in a stand without my harness, and I just got in a hurry and forgot it. And instead of being a little late to the stand, I just went anyway. I fell 26 feet in 2010, and was paralyzed over a month, before God began to do great things to my body. If you saw me today, you probably wouldn't know anything like that had happened. I now have a 2 rods and 8 screws in my back, a plate and 6 screws in my wrist, I broke 8 ribs and bit through both sides of my tongue. I was the season finale of Season 1 of the series "Fight to Survive" on The Outdoor Channel. PM me, if you want to see it. I have it on email, but I'll have to send it and then give you access. I love to share my story of what God did and has done in my life at churches and mens groups. But by all means, PLEASE wear your harness. I have bought 3 extra, so I have one everywhere I might be in case I ever forget again. And I put life lines on all my stands.
I am going to attempt to attach some pictures and the video. The pictures tell the story of where I started in the hospital, until the day I left. From not knowing if I would walk, to seeing God perform a miracle and me walking to my car when I left the hospital.
Some are graphic, so be aware. I bit thru both sides of my tongue, that's there, and also a picture of all my stitches in my back. You'll also see my wife, who was the best nurse anyone could ask for. Know this..we had only been married a month. God blessed me with a wonderful woman. But know this...God is GREAT! And He is real. If you don't know Him, let me invite you to do that. Had it not been for what He did in my life, I would never be where I am today. Except on cold days when I'm stiff, I'm back to normal.
