Decided that I would shoot my 280 AI when firearms season starts. I tried 2 loads,, one with 139 gr GMX and one with 140 gr Barnes TTSX (tipped tsx) to see which shot better. The GMX won out but only by a little at 200 yds. I figured to go with it but have never heard much about it. Anyone have any real world experience with it on deer?

Should perform similarly to the Barnes.
Yep. Barnes opens up into petals while the GMX opens into a more classic mushroom. Both are likely to impart less shock than a lead core bullet, but will also likely give you a full pass through and blood trail. Shoot shoulders if you want to get best shock from these

I've only used to 80 gmx from my 243. Performance has been similar to the 80ttsx, full pass through with wreckage inside.

Agree with above on hitting bone, hard bullets need hard targets.

Both great bullets!
