Met up with catman Monday we met in one of the spots I had hunted sunday and I knew where the birds were so we made our way in set up maybe 50 to 75 yds from where they were gobbling at. They were sounding off real good. The only problem was they all flew down to private land disappointed again we got up and walked around a bit we jumped a few hens and we decided to walk in from another side. We made it to the back field and made a few calls and finally a gobbler sounded off. So we sat down after about 30 min I told cat I was going to head out I had to go to work when I stood up the hen was in the field after a few mins I raised up to see the gobbler in full strut he made it to my shooting lane and I let him have it at 35yds awesome hunt
10" beard what I didn't blow off
1 1/8 spurs
18.6lbs
Mossberg 835 .695 choke
3.5 rem #4

Pics as soon as I can as I said it was fun I had a good time and got to hunt with another tndeer member oh and its a public land bird any suggestions on how to go about asking permission to hunt the cattle farm they flew down to?

Congrats.. sounds like it all fell into place for you.
About the permission, get over there and ask. Dont be shy at all..

Congrats again that was an awesome hunt. I should hopefully be back out there next sunday all day and possibly stay overnight for monday morning again. Hope we can talk to that farmer about possibly hunting his farm.

Thanks and thanks for posting the pic for me catman I can't wait to get back at them its a real good spot with a good number of birds on it!

yeah the only reason I didn't hunt it after scouting was I saw 2 jakes and heard 1 gobbler the one time I scouted. lol I guess it doesn't get hunted too much and has a good number of birds.

I wouldn't mind hunting where I killed my bird and see how the morning starts but I was actually referring to the place I took you to in the morning we need to hunt down in the bottom next to the creek next time we are there and talk to the land owner next door
