Gonna get home HOPEFULLY before the sun goes down and check zero on my rifle, then hang a climber stand. Planning on being in the stand at 0600 (hunting my way in). I see does every morning in one particular spot. I have seen a 7 pt. once, but he hasn't been around lately. I'm praying tomorrow morning he'll pay us a visit so I have a chance at my first TN buck on my own property. It'll be special regardless. Good luck to everyone this weekend. Be safe. It's gonna be like Gettysburg tomorrow morning.

When I learned that my wife would inherit 120 acres of woodlands and grown over pasture I was excited. I took a 120" 10 point that day on what is now my property. It is special. Sometimes she gives me permission to hunt her land. Lol

If you are only interested in a Pope and Young record, no other way but a bow. The thought of seeing a 160" shooter at 200 yards whilst I hold a bow in November always struck me as stupid.

Update: Didn't shoot anything. Doe everywhere. I piebald buck stepped out at first light, had to quickly Google if it was legal to shoot...while it was walking away. Come to find out, it is and it was also a cull buck so I need to get him out of there soon. Beautiful color pattern. I'd never seen one in person. Passed on several good freezer does. The 8 pt. I was targeting decided to come out when my daughter and I were out by the creek (no rifle obviously) at about 1600. Game on! Now I know his schedule and where he sleeps. My sound corny but it's a good feeling walking on my dirt and sitting in my trees (God's trees....on loan to us)

Nothing corny about it at all.... hunting your own ground....and managing the habitat on your own ground is a great experience.... very rewarding and truly a blessing.
