I couldn't have asked for a better beginning. Killed one yesterday around 9:30 and another today around 9:45. I went to a different farm this morning and only heard a couple on the roost way off and not on my property. I figured there were some close but just not gobbling. Set up in good spot calling every 15 minutes or so. Had 5 jakes come in around 8, they hung around for an hour or so. At 9:30 I said I'm gonna give it a few more minutes then I'm gone, needed to get a few things done around the house. I called one last time and didn't hear a thing so I gathered all my things, stood up and took about 5 steps and one gobbled 40 yards away just under the hill. I turned around fast and sat back down. Soon as my butt hit the dirt I saw a red head coming over the rise at 30 yards. Let him come a few more steps and let him have it. 21 lbs, 11.25" beard and 1 3/8 Spurs. Biggest Spurs for me.
