Did not hear anything close this morning. Hunted till noon. Was on my way to truck to get some lunch. Decided to stop and call on top of ridge. He double gobbled twice. I got set up and called softly to him. He was getting closer but would not commit. I then heard the hens. So I never called again and let them pass. Once clear I broke free around the ridge and set up in front of them. They feed right to me and of course he was there in they rear just a strutting away. Got him at 18 steps. Never flopped.
