aw darn....

On a serious note it's really seeming like spring out there...saw a couple birds on the way to school again this morning. If I can get the chance I'll see if I can find the owner of that land and talk...if not I still got 12,800 acres of the WMA.

Who's heard gobbles yet this year? This warm weather has me all ready for spring, not just turkeys but everything about spring.

I think I will just be carrying a hand made tube call or two, a mouth call or two (store bought and/or hand made), a slate call (store bought and/or handmade) and possibly a cheap box call. Not like I need that much, I don't even have or want a turkey vest, I just want to bag my first one this spring. Going real simple with the camo and gear...just me, a few calls, my gun, and some basic head to toe camo. I want to get into the birds' world and not make a show out of calling or anything.

:D

The best way to get land is to play "Hey Mister.." Where you see birds, stop and ask. You'll get a lot of "No"s but when you get a Yes, its sweet.

Do people typically mind someone coming down their long gravel driveway to knock at the door and ask about hunting? Just curious because I know of at least one or two places like that.
