They started gobbling about 400 yards away on the other side of the field while they were on the roost this morning.
We set out killer b and a hen decoy and set up against a big oak tree. We let out a few purs and clucks and they hammered!
Sat silent for about two minutes and we spotted them coming down the ridge to the field. As soon as they spotted our setup it was over! They covered 200 yards of field while strutting and gobbling!
They came to 15 yards and I sent one a load of Win #6s out of the mossy 500. He dropped and never flopped!
The other one took off running but he wasn't as fast as davids federal #5s out of his Win 1300! He rolled him at 35 yards!
Got out of the truck at 6:45 and had the birds down at 7:05!
By far the best morning of the season yet! They actually wanted to gobble a little this morning!
Mine
8 1/2 in beard
3/4 in spurs
not sure on the weight. I would guess somewhere around 20-22 pounds
Davids

7/8 in spurs
20-22 pounds.
