i am looking to buy a choke for my 870 20 ga.

I have looked at some Carlson's chokes and heard good things, but i can't find any on the shelves right now. I saw a tru glo gobble stopper but don't know anything about them.

Anyone know anything about them, and which would you prefer?

just to be clear, I'm not looking to spend a lot on this venture.

I will second the Tru glo Strut stopper! Shoots great! Federal hw 7s. I have never shot the gobbler stopper

For the money, you can't go wrong with the Remington SF. You can get it from Midway for $25 before shipping. The Remington is .572 and the Carlson is going to run .585. I personally use the Remington SF with HW #7 and Hevi 13's. Both throw really good numbers at 40 and you won't be disappointed.

What is "a lot" money wise. You can find the carlsons on eBay or online for under $30 usually. The SSX is a good one as well and for around $60 a sumtoy.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money and you are goin to shoot the federal heavyweights, pick up a primos tightwad, its a .570 constriction, Walmart should start putting them on the shelfs about now, good luck

They are different. They are referring to a Truglo Strut Stopper Xtreme--Model TG157X.
Yea, the one i have is the Strut Stopper Extreme 157X , i believe the constriction is 550
The Gobble Stopper i think is in the 560's , which i assume is what makes such a big difference with certain loads ?
I'm still trying to learn all this stuff myself lol , i never really read alot into chokes and different loads up until a couple years ago.
I just know it's a lot of fun experimenting on paper with different combos.

I know there are some guys on here who have it down to a science
